Originally, Prison Break was supposed to run new episodes through December 17 then take a hiatus, returning in April.  The last episode, "Bang and Burn", will focus on Michael’s escape plan, which now has Susan in the driver’s seat.  Mahone will also get his court date but must testify against others in order to save himself.

If the strike is resolved quickly, production will pick up and the show will film remaining episodes.  If not, the thirteenth episode will become the last one for the third season and air sometime around February sweeps.

According to the New York Times, 20th Century Fox sent a letter to Prison Break writers, notifying them that their pay has been suspended due to failure “to report to work and render their non-writing producing services.”

The WGA Strike, which entered its 30th day today, has gained 600% in search activity. In the past month, the strike put a halt to most television productions, leaving many crew members without pay and TV fans in the lurch. Though negotiations between the WGA (Writers Guild of America) and the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) have picked up, it does not seem that a deal ending the strike is imminent. Many television fans have thrown support behind the WGA, signing petitions and delivering snacks to the picket lines. The group Fans4Writers rallied by mailing pencils to media moguls, some of which they dedicated to their favorite shows or writers.
